How long have you been working for Dobas AG?

I started in August 2021.

Where did your professional journey take you prior to your current position?

I completed an apprenticeship as a draftswoman for interior design.

What main tasks does your daily work involve?

I spend half of my time supporting our project managers by designing and drawing up plans. The other half I use to supervise our apprentices. I accompany them throughout their apprenticeship and help them prepare for their final exams.

How do you stay informed and, more importantly, inspired?

I often feel inspired by my teammates. It motivates and inspires me to see what we are capable of. I also like to be inspired by magazines, artists or social media. Especially when I’m looking for something specific, the internet usually helps me.

What materials make your senses tingle?

It’s the right combination of form and function that does it for me. In most cases, one material alone can never fulfil all my requirements. In a personal context, I really like textiles, especially anything that is warm and fluffy – like my cat.

What’s lying around your desk that might seem unnecessary to others but is important to you and your motivation?

So far, nothing unnecessary has accumulated, I like it to be tidy. However, I enjoy being surrounded by plants. Rather than dragging a palm tree into the office, I decided on two small cacti.

What building and/or space has left a particularly lasting impression on you and why?

In fall 2022, I visited beautiful Copenhagen. During my stay, I went to all the art museums in the city. There was one art project I experienced at Copenhagen Contemporary that will remain with me for a long time. It was inspiring. There was a room called «Light and Space». When you walked in, you were enveloped in complete silence, without any sound whatsoever. It was impossible to tell what the height of the ceiling above you or the size of the room was. The only thing you could perceive was a soft, pink mist in a totally white room. It felt like you were standing in nothingness. The line between perception and reality was blurred in a captivating way. «Light and Space» deceived the senses and enabled a profound experience of emptiness and silence.

What fills you with joy and pride in your professional life?

When a project is completed and I have learned new things in the process. It’s also fulfilling to see the apprentices make progress in their training.

What brings you joy in your personal life?

I am an extremely social person, so it is always special for me when I can spend time with my family, partner or friends.
