Sinthuya Sivarasabathy

Draftswoman Architecture

How long have you been working for Dobas AG?

I have been employed at Dobas since February 2019.

Where did your career path take you prior to this position?

In 2012 I completed my apprenticeship as structural draftswoman. Afterwards I worked mostly for architectural offices but developed myself more and more towards interior architecture.

What are your main tasks as draftswoman architecture?

The function title actually says already everything: I plan and draw various project phases.

How do you keep yourself informed and inspired in particular?

In a number of ways. Thanks to personal contacts – private and professional ones. But also thanks to travelling and exploring foreign cultures. Equally important are platforms such as Pinterest and Instagram.

What materials make your senses jump for joy?

I can’t explicitly name one material, because I am mostly fascinated when materials shape up. At the moment I like cool, dark and clean looks with accentuations.

What odds and ends can one find on your desk, which aren’t essential for your daily work but for yourself and your motivation?

Whether essential or not, that’s up for discussion: I always have a bottle of water with energy stones on my desk.

Which room of your home would you re-design and which ideas would you bring to life?

I would turn my balcony into a Moroccan oasis. Thanks to a high-quality lounge, a lot of plants and corresponding decorative elements. A dressing room would be great too. With nice shelves, closed sections and fitting lighting.

Professionally speaking, what fulfills you with delight and pride?

When working on detailed solutions at my computer, which function in reality and also look aesthetically, among other things.

And what floods you with feelings of happiness in private terms?

There are a lot of things! When recognizing joy in the eyes of others, food of all kind, foreign cultures, music with goose bumps character…
