What are the main tasks that make up your daily work routine?

My main task is to convert the desired concept into detailed technical plans so the carpenter can implement and manufacture it.

What has been the strongest influence on your perspective of design/interior architecture/architecture? Why?

My perspective has been shaped by two sources: first, by well-known architects such as Zaha Hadid, Frank O. Gehry or Jean Nouvel – I’m particularly fascinated by Jean Nouvel’s work on the National Museum of Qatar; second, by my own thoughts and ideas. It’s important to me to create designs that stop people in their tracks and arouse their interest.

What do you need at your work station at all times?

The Maneki-neko, the «beckoning cat» from Japan. It can often be found in restaurants, shops or flats where it symbolically beckons good luck and prosperity with its waving paw.

What advice would you give someone who wants to pursue a career in architecture/interior architecture?

Stay curious and have the courage to try new things over and over again. Keep on growing, expanding your skill set and discovering fresh perspectives. With creativity and perseverance, you can find a technically feasible and even inspiring design solution to just about any request.

How do you relax after a long day at work?

I usually meet up with friends – at the gym, at home or outdoors.
