How long have you been working for Dobas AG?

I’ve been part of the team since February 2024.

Where did your professional journey take you prior to your current position?

Immediately following my initial four-year apprenticeship as a carpenter, I did an apprenticeship as a draftsman specialised in Interior Architecture. I have been able to gain valuable experiences in architecture and interior architecture studios since then. The projects I participated in were spread out all over Switzerland, which gave me the opportunity to get to know the different regions better on a professional and personal level.

What are your main tasks as a draftsman?

My main task is to create layout, floor, wall, ceiling and detailed drawings in our CAD programme. I am also part of project team alongside interior architects and a project manager, and we discuss the planning documents, which are subsequently sent to the clients for approval. Making assessments and preparing detailed solutions are some of my other tasks at Dobas.

How do you stay informed and, more importantly, inspired?

By talking with colleagues, professional planners and entrepreneurs who share their knowledge.

What materials make your senses tingle?

To me, as a trained carpenter, wood is the finest material. I enjoy the pleasant warmth it exudes, especially in the winter months. Hotels that have an Alpine chic/chalet style in Austria and in Southern Tyrol are pure bliss for me – they certainly make my senses tingle.

What should not be missing from your workplace?

Fruits and sweets for snacking on and a full bottle of water.

What building and/or space has left a particularly lasting impression on you and why?

That’s a tough one... every building and every space can leave an impression in one way or another. I personally find old Italian villages and cities that have not lost their charm over the decades the most impressive of all.

What fills you with joy and pride in your professional life?

I am proud of my professional accomplishments, having completed two apprenticeships, and of my outstanding experiences in different offices. And that I continue to grow and learn something new every day.

What brings you joy in your personal life?

The mountains of Switzerland, Austria and Southern Tyrol – whether in hiking boots, on a bike or with snowshoes! I love taking pictures of these moments with my reflex camera or smartphone so I can keep hold of the memories.
